Who cares about looks? Function over looks anyday. The nickel coating (the cilver colour) reduces stiction on the stantions, which makes the fork feel incredibly smooth. More smooth then it does without the nickel coating (the black stantions).

But will work better if properly installed. Meaning the chain goes UNDER the roller to add enough tension to the chain to keep it on the rings. I've had my fair share of experience with under tensioned chains on single speed. The outcome is almost ALWAYS

you measure the size of a drop to the top of the landing. not to the ground. and as i have been there and ridden that drop, i can say first hand that it is 5'....6' at the very most. not 10'. not even close.
